Accounting Specialist
Reporting to, and under the supervision of the Controller, the Accounting Specialist is responsible for maintaining the financial records of the Company by computing, classifying and accurately recording day-to-day transactions.
The Accounting Specialist will keep accurate records of both accounts payable and accounts receivable, process payroll and related activities, and help with other ad hoc projects as they may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections and reconciliations
- Prepare and process payments to vendors via ACH or wire transfer, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Respond timely to internal and external inquiries with regards to any AP and AR related issues
- Synchronize and properly code employee expenses from Navan to Quickbooks
- Process semi-monthly and special payrolls for employees via Rippling
- Manage 401k contributions
HR responsibilities, including onboarding / off-boarding tasks, benefits administration, and employee relations - Manage compliance and agency payroll tax notices
- Annual Processing: Handle annual 1099
- Participate in special projects as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Understanding of GAAP accounting principles
- 1-3 years of general accounting experience
- 1-3 years of experience working with payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably with Rippling
- Knowledge of employment laws and federal/state regulations preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

$55,000 – $65,000
